Fighting flu starts with you!

What Is Influenza?

Influenza, commonly known as 'the flu,' is a viral infection that primarily affects the respiratory system.

Influenza is highly contagious and is primarily transmitted through sneezing and coughing. It can also be contracted by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your nose, mouth, or eyes.

Common influenza symptoms include:

  • Fever

  • Dry cough

  • Nasal congestion

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • Fatigue

While the symptoms of the flu may resemble those of Covid-19, it's important to note that Covid-19 vaccines are not effective against influenza. To protect yourself and those in your care from the flu, it is crucial to receive the annual flu vaccine.
