Flu Vaccines Have Arrived!
We have received our annual government-funded and private flu vaccines!
This year, we will be running dedicated Flu Vaccine Clinics with our nursing team to allow patients timely access to this service. Please note that GPs will not be administering flu vaccines this year. This change allows our doctors to focus on patients who require clinical consultations, helping ensure everyone receives timely care.
Am I eligible for a free (government-funded) flu vaccine?
If you are eligible for a free government flu vaccine, you should have received a text message from us late last week. Patients who are eligible for the free flu vaccine are:
Children: Aged 6 months to under 5 years.
Pregnant Women: At any stage of pregnancy.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People: Aged 6 months and over.
People Aged 65 and Over
People with Certain Medical Conditions: Aged 6 months and over with conditions that increase their risk of severe influenza and its complications (e.g., cardiac, chronic respiratory, immunocompromising, haematological, chronic metabolic, chronic kidney, or chronic neurological conditions, or long-term aspirin therapy in children aged 5 to 10 years).
How much is the private flu vaccine?
Patients who are not eligible for a free flu vaccine can have a private flu vaccine for $20.00. Private flu vaccines are not covered by Medicare and therefore, there is no Medicare rebate for this service.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment to get your flu vaccine by speaking to one of our friendly receptionists on (02) 9789 5955. Alternatively, you can book an appointment online by clicking here.
